Supervision & Hiking

To the end of January 2026 some volunteers of Sofra Migrants e.V. met again for a Team supervision in Bierenbachtal, in the high ceiling seminar room of the old chapel housed by Kultur in der Kapelle e.V.
One week previously 12 Sofra Volunteers had filled in a questionnaire about their expectations for the „Supervision & Hiking“ Day with us. On reading their answers I just needed to reverse the „Don’ts“ into „Let’s“ and a fantastic invitation for constructive dialogue was prepared:

  • Let’s accept every perspective as long as it ist not traumatizing…
  • Let’s not take critic personally, let’s trust on common ground…
  • Let’s hold everyone accountable and think of the audience we are adressing

and so forth. What a perfect paper for a mutual understanding. This paper helped us find out what different assumptions their was on what „traumatizing“ means an in how far this was evitable in communication, we wondered how it would look like not to take „things personally“, a communication without personal involvement? And we took it very seriously to find out what accountability might look like in different perceptions of the common experiences of the team.

Until a participant asked: Is it the weather or the topic that makes me shiver?
– We loughed and agreed on that it might be both 🙂

Than gave the tasty vegan soups a try and had an hour hike into the hills of the „Bergisches Land“!
Enjoy our List of „Let’s“ and be prepared for your next dialogical supervision.
